Frequently Asked Questions

  • A hostel is unique lodging focused on community and shared social experience. That means we offer fully private rooms like a hotel, private rooms with shared bathrooms, and shared rooms (dorms) with shared everything. We also have a community kitchen, lounge, library, and super comfy lobby so you can meet new people and relax in our space!

PLEASE NOTE: all dormitories are reserved for travelers only and REQUIRE proof of ongoing travel, meaning a plane ticket to and from, gas receipts, international passport, or proof of ongoing activity while in town. We do not accept local ID. Dorm beds will be assigned at booking. Guests sleeping in a bed not assigned, or switching beds, will be charged a fine.

  • Check in starts at 2:00 p.m. and goes until 2:00 a.m. Checkout is at 11:00 a.m. Our front desk is open 24/7.

Early check in/late check out is subject to availability and subject to a $25 fee. Please note: hostel rooms are charged nightly, not daily. Checking in after midnight does not change our dates of stay.

PLEASE NOTE: Our lobby locks at midnight, meaning those who do NOT have a reservation will not be granted access after midnight. This is for everyone's safety. If you're arriving after midnight, please email reservations@11thavenuehostel.com to let us know.

For a full list of our policies, visit this page.

  • Cancellations made 48-hours (2 days) or less before arrival will be charged the first night's stay. If you cancel BEFORE 48-hours prior to arrival you will not be charged. For example, if you are staying on January 3rd, if you cancel before January 1st, you will not be charged for the cancellation.

Late cancellations for mistaken bookings (i.e. you booked a dorm when you wanted a private room) also fall under this policy. Please note: if you make a same day booking and wish to cancel, you will be charged for that reservation!

We try to be as upfront as possible with our accommodations, all we can do is hope you thoroughly read the information we put out.

  • Sorry, no parking on site. Metered street parking on East/West streets is free from 6 PM - 8 AM. Parking on Broadway or Lincoln is NOT permitted overnight.

Please note: these parking suggestions are recommendations, but have no affiliation with our business. 11th Avenue Hostel is not responsible for improperly parked vehicles, tickets, theft, or loss. Lock your cars and do not leave valuables in them!

Parking is not permitted at any time behind the 11th Avenue Hostel. Any vehicle parked in this area will be immediately towed. • Short answer: no.

We welcome service animals as defined by ADA Title II and III. If service animals are acting abnormally, they will be asked to leave. Service animals may not be left in a guest room unsupervised. Service animals that cause damage to a room will be liable for a cleaning fee up to $500.

Emotional support animals, comfort animals, pets and therapy dogs are NOT service animals under Title II and Title III of the ADA. Other species of animals, whether wild or domestic, trained or untrained, are not considered service animals either. The work or tasks performed by a service animal must be directly related to the individual’s disability. It does not matter if a person has a note from a doctor that states that the person has a disability and needs to have the animal for emotional support. A doctor’s letter does not turn an animal into a service animal.

  • Nope. DO NOT smoke anywhere on property. Those smoking marijuana on property (or if we discover you smoked in your room after check-out) will be required to leave without a refund, and charged a $250-$500 cleaning fee, depending on damage.

Why, you ask? Because private property owners in Colorado can elect not to allow smoking of marijuana on property. Our building is more than 100-years-old, and any kind of smoke is very destructive.

Colorado may be 4/20 friendly, but our old building is not. Please enjoy off-site.
